We Made The News!

Dice and Balls has been featured in The Nottingham Post!

We are thrilled to share some fantastic news with you all: Dice and Balls, the first-of-its-kind gaming store in Arnold town centre, has been featured in the Nottingham Post! The article highlights our journey and the vision behind our store, which is set to offer an amazing range of popular games, circus skills equipment, and hand-made wooden crafts.

As friends and founders of Dice and Balls, we established our venture as a Community Interest Company with a clear purpose: to bring people together through the power of board games and circus skills workshops.

While our initial plans to open on Front Street faced a temporary setback due to unforeseen circumstances, we didn’t let that discourage us. We quickly secured a fantastic new unit in Arnold town centre, and we couldn’t be more excited about this opportunity. Our passion for board games and circus skills has inspired us to create a space where people can come together, find inclusivity, and combat social isolation.

At Dice and Balls, we firmly believe in the power of inclusivity. In addition to offering a wide range of games, our store will have a spacious table where people can gather and play together. We will also organize fully inclusive events that cater to everyone, ensuring accessibility for all members of our community. We want to provide a supportive environment for those who may feel socially excluded, and our goal is to foster a gaming community where everyone feels valued and included.

The spark for our gaming community came from witnessing the transformative effects of games like Dungeons and Dragons on our own children, who have special needs. We were amazed at how these games helped them open up, connect with others, and grow in confidence. This inspired us to extend this experience to the broader community, with the aim of creating a welcoming and enriching space for people of all backgrounds and abilities.

But Dice and Balls isn’t just about games; it’s about circus skills too. One of us, Phire, has a deep background in circus workshops, having worked in the field for 15 years starting in 2000. Recently, we rekindled our passion for circus skills, with Zoe exploring stilt walking for over a year. We are thrilled to bring this unique combination of games and circus skills to our new shop, providing an extraordinary and engaging experience for all who visit us.

While we are still finalizing the exact opening date, we want you to know that we are working tirelessly to secure our unit in Arnold. We have countless ideas in the pipeline, including hosting low-cost or even free, fully inclusive events and donating a portion of our profits to local charities. Our dream is to make a positive impact on our community and create a vibrant hub where everyone can find joy, connection, and personal growth.

This journey has been a constant source of inspiration and excitement for us. We spend hours discussing our plans and developing new ideas to make Dice and Balls a truly extraordinary place. We are overwhelmed with joy and gratitude as we move closer to making our dream a reality.

We want to express our deepest gratitude to the Nottingham Post for featuring Dice and Balls. We are immensely grateful for the support and encouragement we have received from the community thus far, and we cannot wait to welcome you all to our store very soon.

Stay tuned for further updates on the grand opening of Dice and Balls, and be sure to mark your calendars. We look forward to embarking on this incredible journey with you, where games, circus skills, and a warm, inclusive atmosphere will converge to create an exceptional haven for fun, connection, and community spirit.
